For this summer learning journey activity I have to go on to a website about Gallipoli and post the three things I learnt about it.
1. Gallipoli was NZ's first campaign of WW1
2. Lots of soldiers were killed or wounded (Mostly ANZAC soldiers)
3. The Turkish soldiers met the ANZACS with shrapnel and gun fire
Hi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading the blogs for this activity because I learn something new about the Battle of Gallipoli. It was such a significant event in our history and one that, as you have noted, was quite tragic. Thousands of soldiers from New Zealand lost their lives in the battle. It reminds me of just how lucky we are to live in this current era, free from World War, famine and much of the religious prosecution that faces other parts of the world. New Zealand really is a great place to live, isn't it...
How lucky are we?!
Looking forward to seeing you when I come into Panmure Bridge School to hand out certificates and prizes early in Term 1.
Cheers,
Rachel :-)
