ANZAC Biscuits

On Tuesday and Wednesday room 7 made ANZAC biscuits. To make the ANZAC biscuits we used the school kitchen. We had to work in groups otherwise the kitchen would be too full. Step one was mix the flour, sugar, rolled oats and coconut. My job was to pour the flour, sugar, oats and coconut into the bowl. Step two was get an adult to help you to melt the butter and the golden syrup in a saucepan over low heat. Step three was to put baking soda in a cup and add boiling water. Step four was to pour the butter and the syrup into the flour, sugar, oats and coconut and stir. Step five was to Grease a baking try and put tablespoons off the mixture about 4 centimeters apart. The last step was to bake for 15 minutes or until they are a golden colour.

Our visit To The Panmure Library

The Panmure Library

Today room 7 went to the Panmure Library. We walked all the way there. When we got to the Library we had to go and sit on mat. Half the class sat on a white and black mat and the other half sat on a red and black mat. We were fairy tribes. Our teachers names were Pare, Juanita, Ole and Kare . The half of the class that sat on the black and red mat had a club (patu) and the other half that sat on the black and white mat had a stick (rakau). We enjoyed practicing with the weapons with our teachers. After that we made a matau out of clay. To make the matau we had to get a necklace and push it in the clay. When it was finally time to go back to school I was really sad we had really great time there. I hope we do it again some time.

Monday Quick Writes

Super hero at the pools!!!

On Sunday a super hero saved a man who was drowning in the pools. The super hero saw him floating in the pools near the place that he was swimming. He immediately stared swimming towards him. The lifeguard couldn't save him because he was taking with somebody else. He grabbed his hand and pulled up but the man was too heavy. He pulled and pulled but the man still would't budge. Then he came up to the surface to breath and thought about how to get him out. Then he knew what to do. he called the lifeguards over and they finally realized what was happening and they were running over. Together they pulled out the man. Later he got a medal from the mayor for bravery and helpfulness. He was very happy that he helped someone.

Xtra math

I think I am getting better at Xtra math because I am now on subtraction. I would like to improve getting my answers correct.
