NEXT Foundation Visit

Yesterday, the NEXT Foundation came into Panmure Bridge school. They were here to launch the Summer Learning Journey. Some other people also came: Mr Burt (Principal of Pt England School), Rachel Williams (The creator of the Summer and Winter Learning Journeys). Some of the people from the NEXT Foundation including Bill Kermode (The CEO of the NEXT foundation) also came. Some of the students from Panmure Bridge (including myself) spoke on stage about the Summer Learning Journey. They came to showcase a video that they created for the launch of the Summer Learning Journey and I was the main character in it. It was really fun shooting the movie (which we filmed at my house and at school). I really enjoyed being part of it. After assembly, the NEXT foundation provided lunch for everyone in our school. It was delicious.

Tahuna Torea

Yesterday the senior school went to Tahuna Torea to see if we could find any birds. LS2 was looking out for Bar-Tailed Godwits because we were learning about them. Sadly, we didn't see any. We went on three rotations. First, LS2 went and looked at the beach, then we played on the park for a bit, and finally we went on a walk in the bush (Though we stuck to the paths). Words That Start With Un

For spelling I wrote all the words that I could think of that started with un. I found long un words like unprofessional and unmoved. I also found small un words like unable and unfair. I managed to fill up all of the squares with un words that I knew.

Science Movie

For the past few weeks we have been doing science in groups. After we did all the experiments we had to make a movie in our groups. We used scientific language throughout the movie and we reenacted the experiment with our own props. (We used baking soda for our own effects.)

Searching Skills and Tips

Today Oh Hsen, AJ and I made a DLO about what we learnt yesterday and today. We found out that it doesn't matter if you use capital or full stops it will still come up with the same thing if you search without the punctuation. 

Tech

Today LS2 went to tech. It was my first time going to tech and I was really excited. We went in a bus to tamaki collage. The year 7's did cooking. We made milkshakes out of ice-cream, syrup, milk and chocolate powder. 

Art

This is my Kaleidoscope art. The background colour that I used had to be a cold colour and my name had to be a warm colour. 2 of the letters in my name are red, 2 are yellow and 2 are orange. 

T.R.U.M.P

For this Latham, Harry, Ana, Mya and I wrote how T.R.U.M.P could help us with our learning. We each did a letter from T.R.U.M.P. I wrote about how the M from T.R.U.M.P can help us with our learning.

Basic Facts

This is my score for my basic facts. For multiplication, roots, factors, squares and division I got 10 out of 10. Also for fractions and percentages I got 7 out of 10.
