Today at food tech we finished making our mince and cheese pies. Last week we made the filling and this week we made the pastry. Harlem (My partner) and I made a pie each. The pies looked, tasted and smelled amazing! This was our last tech session for this term.

Today, the year seven's and eight's went to tech. The year eights had food tech. We made our filling for our meat pies. Here are some of the ingredients we used: Mince, water, soy sauce, nutmeg and onion. Hopefully, next week when we make the pastry for the pies and when we finish them, they are delicious!

Today at tech, the year eight's made a big Quiche. These are the ingredients we used: flour, butter, egg, bacon, onion, cream and cheese. Once we finished cooking and cleaning up our work station, we took our food back to school and tried it. It was delicious!

Today the year eights had food tech. We made chicken kebabs and potato salad. I worked in a group of three, with Harlem and CJ. First, we had to do things like cut the chicken in pieces. Other ingredients included: Potatoes, spring onion, bacon, egg and salad dressing At the end, once we finished cleaning up, we tried our food. It was delicious!

Today for tech, the year eights had food tech. We made these cupcake like things (Bread as the base and spaghetti on top). We worked in groups of twos and threes and at the end, when we tasted it, it was very delicious. A very big thanks to Mrs Heka for helping us create it.

Straw Rocket Collage

On Friday, after tech, the year seven and eight's went with Mr Dunn to make some rockets. Before we made rockets that would be launched into the air, we made straw ones. Here is a collage showing some people flying or making their straw rockets.

At Tech we were working on two types of rockets. A straw rocket and a Paper rocket. I was working with Harry, Lyndon and AJ. The first rocket we had to do was the straw rocket. We cut out pieces of paper then attached them to our straws with sellotape. We did the same with the top of the straw where we bent it and sellotaped it. We then put the small straw in the a big straw. We also used the big straw to blow the rocket out and watched it fly.

Tech

Today at tech the year seven's went to graphics. We were working on our flying pigs task. We were drawing something (It could be anything) like a piece of cheese onto paper so we could attach wings to it when we finished. I did a flying piece of cheese. The flying cheese is supposed to be a decoration that you could hang from the ceiling of your room. We had to string the string through the holes we made in the wings so we could attach it to the body. It was a very interesting task, and everyone enjoyed it!

Today at tech the year seven's were drawing 3D shapes. We learnt about Oblique which is the side of something. Next we learnt about Isometric grid lines, which are lines that are parallel to each other.

Today the year seven's and eight's went to tech. Half of the year eight's went to cooking (They made chocolate chip muffins and smoothies). The other half of the year eight's went to digital tech (They did scratch). The year seven's were at pewter casting (We were filing our chosen pewter cast).

Today was the first week back at tech for this term. The year seven's are still doing pewter casting, while half the year 8's are doing cooking and the other half is doing digital tech. I had a great time filing my pewter to make it smooth and round. At digital tech, half the year 8's did the design briefs for their game that they are making, and the cooking class made macaroni and cheese.

Today the year 7 and 8's went to Tech. The year 7's had cooking with Mrs Heka. We made upside down mango cake. It took a while preparing the cake but it was worth it. The cake at the end was delicious and sweet. It was also healthy because of the pieces of mango that we used.

Tech

Today LS2 went to tech at Tamaki Collage. The year seven's went to cooking. This week we made smoothies. The idea was to compare what we made last week (Milkshakes) with what we made this week. The smoothies we better in my opinion because they were healthy but most people didn't like the taste of the smoothies.

Today LS2 went to tech. It was my first time going to tech and I was really excited. We went in a bus to tamaki collage. The year 7's did cooking. We made milkshakes out of ice-cream, syrup, milk and chocolate powder.
