Today for reading, LS2 learnt a bit more about the bar-tailed godwits (Also known as the kauka). We did some reciprocal reading on a text about them. For the reciprocal reading, one person starts off as the leader and asks the other people in his/her group if they have any predictions. After that the whole group reads part of the text silently, then the leader asks if there are any words the other people are unsure of. Next, the leader asks the people in the group if they have any questions and finally the leader asks the group to summarize the text they have just read.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson, and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Bar-Tailed Godwit Storyboard That
This is a DLO that I created on Bar-Tailed Godwits. Our task was a to make a comic strip on Bar-Tailed Godwits using storyboard that. First we created a comic strip. Then we got some of the most interesting facts about the Godwit and we put it on the comic strip. This was my first time doing something like this so it took a while to get the hang of it. It was actually pretty fun to use with all of the backgrounds and characters you could use.
