Winter Learning Journey

For this winter learning journey activity I had to think of someone that inspires me. I thought for a while and I realized that the person that inspires me the most is not a world leader like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. The person that inspires me the most is my mum because she always encourages me and helps me, whether it is with my learning or with something like playing a outdoor sport.

  1. Talofa lava Daniel,
What a amazing and detailed description of why your mum inspires you. I think your mum is a really encouraging and also caring mum. Can you list me 2 things of outdoor and learning thing that your mum would really help and encourage you. If it was my mum she would really work with me on my Reading and if it's a outdoor thing it would be rugby.

  2. Hi Ofa
Thanks for the complement :). I think my mum is a great role model and inspires me a lot. Who inspires you the most?

  3. Hi Ofa and Daniel,

It's great to see your conversation evolving on this thread. I think that you have both asked very good questions of each other. When you see a question that has been asked, can you please do your very best to answer it before asking another? It helps us to share important information and get to know one another better :)

So, to answer both of the questions that you have posted, my mom would help and encourage me by reading my homework assignments and helping me to edit them. She would also go for a walk with me to encourage me to stay healthy and fit. As far as inspiration goes, I am constantly amazed by people like Nelson Mandela and others who have fought for equality and justice. As a result, they suffered a great deal (physically, mentally and emotionally) but they remained strong and determined to do the right thing. It inspires me to always try to do my best when I see others setting such a strong example.

As an aside, I am also inspired by people like your teachers. I come from a whole family of teachers so I know how hard they work and how committed they are to their work, to you guys as students and to the school. I think that you're very lucky to have such awesome teachers and role models :)

    Cheers, Rachel
