For this activity, I have to imagine that I was visiting a neighbouring town that was 30 kilometers away. There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. I have four options for the trip:
1. Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
2. Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
3. Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
4. Bicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)
I would chose to take the scooter because it doesn't cost as much as the train and bus, it is quicker than the bicycle and it has a unlimited number of stops.

ReplyDeleteGood thinking - the scooter is a great compromise. It combines elements of speed, cost and efficiency into one little package. I think that I would also opt for the scooter unless I was traveling through Canada during a snow storm. In that case, I would opt for a bus or the train. It would be pretty miserable trying to drive through a blizzard at -20 degrees on a scooter!

ReplyDeleteI like your thinking - you chose something that doesn't cost too much and that allows you to stop and see anything that catches your eye. Good idea! I hope the weather cooperates - it can be tricky to ride a scooter in the slashing rain. But then, that would be fun in it's own way, wouldn't it? It's always fun to splash through big puddles!
