Today on the Kiwi Kids News Quiz I got 90%. I learnt that the reserve bank is re-designing notes so the are harder to counterfeit (which means making fakes). Next time I hope that I will get 100%.
Clock Times
These are some times that I made on my clock. I had to make four different times on my clock. I then took a photo of the clock with different times. Next I created a google drawing and I put the clock photos on the google drawing. Then I wrote the clock time on a box underneath the picture of the clocks.
Making a clock
This is my clock that I made. The time that the clock is showing is 10: 25. The clock was very hard to make because if I did something wrong my whole clock could have been ruined.

Tiny dragon
Tiny dragon
As I stretched out on the warm grass, I felt a tickle on my fingertips. The smell of smoke drifted in the air. I suddenly looked at my hand and saw a tiny, green and brown dragon!. I screamed in shock. What was the dragon doing here? I thought. The dragon hopped on the palm of my hand from my fingertips. I held it as far away as I could. The dragon felt scaly and warm. Smoke was pouring out of his nostrils and he glared at me like I did something wrong. I was curious and when I lifted my hand to take a closer look the dragon did a loud ROAR.
I jumped back in fright but I quickly forgot about my fear because I wanted to study it. Its tail was short and thick and while it’s body is brown his wings were a emerald green colour. The dragon looked like a male dragon so I decided to call him Robert. Robert’s claws were very sharp and they hurt my skin. His eyes were a deep brown colour. I wanted another look so I lifted the dragon closer to me again. Suddenly a lot of gray and black smoke came out of the dragon’s nostrils. I coughed but then I quickly covered my head with my free hand so none of the smoke got into my eyes. Eventually the smoke passed but I could still smell it when I took my hand away.
I lifted the dragon in the sunlight so I could see better. The dragon’s wings gleamed in the sunlight as I look at him. He rubbed his scaly head on my hand so it tickled. As I laughed I saw that Robert had lots of green spots on his brown body but he had no spots on his green wings. I then changed his named to Spotty. I touched Spotty’s wings and they were even thought they were thin they were also incredibly soft and smooth. Spotty had two tiny, white and shiny horns on his head. I also noticed that he had a spike at the end of the tail. The spike looked sharp and deadly. I thought to myself that the dragon looked deadly and dangerous.
It was getting late (I could tell because it was getting dark) so I decided to go home. I put the dragon down carefully and I started walked home. That dragon was awesome I thought to myself as I walked back home.

Manaiakalani Film Festival
Today in the afternoon Panmure Bridge School went to the Manaiakalani film festival at Sylvia park. The cinema that we went to was loud and noisy when we walked inside. Other schools were already inside when we walked in. I was excited about seeing lots of fabulous videos, but I was also nervous because there were heaps of people from other schools. When the lights went and the first person to speak stepped on the platform everyone stopped talking. All the videos that I saw were very interesting and had lots of learning. My favorite movie out of all of our school was room 4's Duffy saves the day. My favorite movie was Tamaki College's master chef video because the three contestants made some interesting foods. I also like how Glenn Innes school helped make Bubble and Squeak. I also like Saint Pius X's video about making better butter. The Manaiakalani film festival was cool and I had a great time looking at all of those videos made by other schools.

Cross Country
Cross Country
Yesterday the students that came 1, 2 and 3 in the school cross country went to Bailey road school for the inter school cross country. When we got to Bailey road school we sat on some benches while we waited for our turn to run. The year 3 and 4 had to do one lap, the year 5 and 6 had to do two laps and the year 7 and 8 had to do 3 laps. First up were the year 3 girls (the girls were always first) and then the year 3 boys. I was very proud of my little brother because he came third. After the year 3s ran the year 4s were next. After the year 4s finished running we had morning tea.I didn't eat anything for morning tea because I didn't want to get a stitch while I was running. It was very boring while I waited for morning tea to finish. After morning tea it was the year 5s turn to run. The year 5 girls ran first. When the year 5 girls finished running the year 5 boys got ready to run. I am a year 5, so I got ready to run. I was very nervous. When a woman said "go" we started running. The other boys were really fast so I was left behind a bit. I ran and I managed to overtake many of the other year 5 boys. I finished the first lap easily but as I started the second lap I started puffing a bit. As I got closer to the finish line I tried to overtake the boy that was in front of me. I sped up and went in front of the boy but then he sped up and went speeding past me. In the end I came third. Even through I didn't come first I was still proud of my results. At the prize giving I got a certificate. I was really proud that I achieved something.

Why Do Houses Have Windows
Why Do Houses Have Windows
Why do houses have windows? There are a lot of reasons for having windows on your house. Houses have windows so you can look outside. If you look outside your window you can see the mailman coming instead of just going to your mailbox every 15 or 30 minutes to check if the mail is in the mailbox.
If you are going to the park or somewhere else outside you can look out your window to see if its going to rain. Windows can give you an extraordinary view. If you are in a hotel a tall office building or some other high place you can look out your window and you can see a lot of things like children playing in the park and people walking around with their dogs.
But if you accidentally leave you window open when its raining, rain will come in and drench some of your things. Lots of things like leaves and grass can come in your window if you leave it open and a storm comes. If you have a computer or some other digital device around a open window when its raining the digital device could be ruined and if the digital device is ruined you just wasted a lot of money for that digital device.
If you don’t have windows in your house your house will have no bright sunshine shining into your house, your house will be dark and cold (except if you have electricity). If you open your windows when its sunny you can get light from the sun instead of wasting a lot of money on electricity.
Windows can help you look outside, they can let you have fresh air and they can let you do other things like you can see if it is raining outside. But if you leave windows open during a storm then your stuff or you will get wet. But would you like to live in a house without windows?

Netball
For kiwi sport this term we had netball. In our first session we learned how to do a chest pass. We also learnt how to shoot the ball into the hoop. You have to bend your knees and push up to shoot. You also have to pass to your team mate that is not blocked by another player on the other team. Merrin, our teacher, also taught us that if someone on the other team has the ball you have to try and block that person from passing the ball. In the final session we played a real game. We were split into two teams white and black. I was one of the subs that had to wait for Merrin to say that the people that were playing had to swap. I was in the white team. At the end of the match Merrin got out some red bibs out and gave it to the subs then she said "white team off and red team on". After a hard match I think that the red team and the white team had a tie. It was really fun playing netball.

Trip To The Museum
Yesterday room seven went to the museum with room 8 and 5. First we went into a room and sat on a mat. One of the museum people told us a bit about migration and when they left there country they brought their culture over here. The museum people let us feel some tapa. The tapa was very interesting to feel and touch because the a museum person told us that it took a long time to make. After that the museum people let us make our own tapas. We didn't have much time to make the tapas because the bus was late to school. All we had to do was put our paper over a bit of patterned wood and rub with a crayon. When we ran out of time we went down the steps to a big map. For the next activity different museum people asked us some questions. The questions were a bit hard and I couldn't remember all of them. Next the museum people gave us two blocks of wood and a bit of string. The trick was that you had to get the string through both bits of wood. The next bit was to drill a hole through a bit of wood. It was hard to keep the drill straight so it didn't come off the bit of wood. Then we got split into two groups so we can do the challenge. The challenge was to keep the drill on for as long as you could. I was in group two. In the first round Sebastian beat Latham and in the second round Phoenix beat Evelyn. Sadly my group lost 0-2. After that we all of the classes went outside to eat our lunch. After lunch my class split up into our groups. I went with my Dad, Latham, Mere and Ofa from room 8. We walked around for a bit but Mere and Ofa wanted to go to the volcano. In the volcano place there was a big fake volcano. We walked around for a bit but Latham wanted to go to the ancient worlds so that we can see the mummy that was there. My favorite place was the armory because it had rifles, pistols, swords, and knifes. Soon we had to go back to school so we went to the entrance to wait for the other groups. When everybody was back at the entrance we went on the bus to go back to school. I thought this trip was going to be boring but it was really cool.

Migration
This is my blog about migration. Migration is when people from a country come to a different country. Most people were pushed out of there country's because of war, crime, and poor living conditions. If I would migrate I would go to I would go to Australia because I have heard that they have cool and fun things in the gold coast.

Scaring My Dad
Scaring my Dad
On Saturday in my small, green and white house my brothers and I decided to scare my Dad. Our mum was out shopping so we couldn't scare her. We decided to scare our dad when he was sitting on the chair in the living room. We crept down the stairs and with each step the stairs creaked like they were groaning under our weight. I almost got snapped by my dad when I nearly slipped on a toy car, but I just managed to not stand on it. The door slowly opened and my brothers and I screamed BOO! My Dad was so scared that he fell of his chair and we fell over laughing. Later my Dad hid behind us and screamed “Got Ya”! After we got scared by my Dad he said “because you scared me and I scared you we are now even so no more scaring ok”. So we promised not to scare my Dad anymore, but next time I think that I will scare my mum instead of my Dad.

Duffy Theater
Today Duffy theater came to our school. Three people came from the theater to tell us to read, read and read. The people that came from the theater were called Duffy, Rosie and Bingo. Rosie and Duffy were talking about reading books when Duffy said lets sing the Duffy song. After the Duffy song Duffy said my uncle Bingo is coming today. Rosie wanted to give Bingo a book because she was a big fan of Bingo, Bingo is a famous rugby player. When Bingo came to Duffy, Rosie gave him her present. When Rosie said the present was a book Bingo said that he wasn't into books. Duffy thought that his uncle meant that he couldn't read so Duffy said that he will teach his uncle how to read. When Duffy tried to teach his uncle to read his uncle said that he can already read, "how do you think I can read all of the News papers and magazines about me" he said. Then Bingo went to Sydney to play the finals, but on the plane he had to wait four and a half hours he said "what am I going to do in four and a half hours"? So Bingo opened the Rosie's present to him and he read the book that was all about ballerinas. When Bingo played rugby in the finals he danced like a ballerina. Back at his home Duffy said "hey Rosie Bingo read your book because he has knows lots of ballerina moves". Bingo's rugby team won the match because of Bingo and his ballerina moves.

Going To Sylis' Birthday
Sleeping Over at Sylis house for his birthday
On Saturday the 19th I went over to my friend Sylis’ house because it was his birthday and I had a sleepover at his house. When I got to Sylis’ house we had a game of soccer. The game was very close but in the end I won 13-14. Sylis was very good and he was a big challenge. After the game the sky started to go dark so we went inside and watched TV until dinner was ready. Dinner was curry with rice, meat and vegetables. Dinner was very hot but was really yummy. After dinner when Sylis’ little brother and sister were asleep we watched some movies in his room. The movie that we watched was called Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. Percy Jackson and the lightning thief was about a boy called Percy Jackson. Percy is the son of the sea god and his uncle the god of the air, his uncle thinks that Percy stole the lightning bolt. His uncle Zeus is very angry because his lightning bolt is very powerful. Percy has to get the lightning bolt quickly or the gods will have war with each other. After watching a movie we went into the lounge and Sylis’ got his colouring in pencils and paper. We both had a competition and when we both finished drawing we went to Sylis’ mum and dad so they can pick the winner. In the end Sylis’ mum said it was a tie and she bought us a sundae each from McDonalds. After eating the sundae we watching a rugby game. It was Warriors vs Broncos. The thing that Sylis and I didn't understand was that the Warriors always get lots of tries in the first half but in the second half they don’t get much tries. In the end the Broncos won and Sylis’ and I went to bed angry because the Warriors didn't win. The next day when Sylis’ family were all at his house we had pizza, chips and fizzy drink. When we got our food we were told to go outside to eat so we didn’t make a mess. Sylis’ and I decided to play a game of soccer while we were eating our pizza. As we played Sylis knocked my pizza out of my hand and then he laughed like it was a big joke. Fifteen minutes later Sylis’ mum told us it was time to cut the cake. When I saw the cake it looked delicious because it had white chocolate and M and Ms in it. When everyone said happy birthday and gave Sylis his presents, Sylis’ Auntie cut the cake into equal pieces. The cake was delicious and very yummy. The cake was so nice that I wanted more but there was only enough for one piece each. When Sylis’ family all left I watched Sylis play on his phone. At three o’clock I went home feeling very happy and tired.

My Art Reflection
This term in art room seven did colour mixing. We were focusing to do our art the way Ton Schulten does his. We had to pick a landscape photo and copy it onto our piece of paper. Next we copied the landscape photo from the piece of paper and we put it on another piece of paper. On the piece of paper we also drew lines in red so if you are painting in the blue every square is a different kind of blue. The landscape that I chose is the beach. It was very hard and we had to make our own colours. The only colours that we used is blue, green, red, yellow, black and white. It took us a long time but in the end I was very proud of myself.
Term 2 Reflection
This term room 7 have learnt a lot of interesting things. Like going to the Botanical gardens was really cool and fun. For the past nine weeks we have been doing lots of hard work. My favorite activities are Maths, Writing and Topic.
In Maths we have been using math games to help us learn. We use E-ako maths, Xtra maths, study ladder and maths buddy. Maths buddy helped me learn about decimals, E-ako maths helped me with my fractions and XtraMaths helped me with my addition, subtraction and Multiplication.
For writing we have learnt how to elaborate (add detail), make simple sentences, take risks with our words and make a information report. We use the riskometer to see how many risks we are taking.
In topic we have learnt that if you destroy a animals habitat the animal might die. We have also learnt that if a animal is endangered the animal is close to extinction. Extinction means that there is no more of that animal. We have learnt that classification is a group of animals. We split our class into different groups and we each had to research about our animal that we got. The animal that my group and I got was fish. We learnt heaps of things about fish and we now know that fish are cold blooded.
My favorite thing in maths is Xtra math because it is fun to do and I learn lots of things. My favorite thing in writing is making a information report because they are interesting and you learn about animals. My favorite thing in topic is doing a classification about a animal because you can find out things that you did not know before.

I think that this term has gone really fast and it has been a really awesome term.

The Interactive Drum Show
Wednesday whole school went to the hall for the drum show. There were drums all around the hall and we had enough for one each. There were so many drums that even the teachers got to have a drum. There were two people who were going to teach us how to play the drums there names were Johnny and Lucie. Once everybody sat down Johnny showed us how to play the drum. He told us to say yes I like it very very much and every time you say 'yes I' you have to bang the drum with both hands together. When you say 'like it' you have to bang the drum with one hand and when you say 'very very much' you have to use both hands and bang the drum as fast as you can.
