For this activity I have to list five major landmarks in New Zealand. A star next to a landmark means I have personally seen it.
Number One: Auckland harbour bridge
Number Two: Sky Tower
Number Three: Waitomo Caves
Number Four: Te Papa Museum
Number Five: Lake Taupo
Hi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteI see that you just recently posted this blog. It's great to see that you're so actively involved. I love logging on to read your blogs. Keep up the great work!
I also love to see that you have chosen five interesting landmarks in New Zealand. I, too, have been to the Auckland Harbour Bridge and the Sky Tower but I have yet to go to the Waitomo Caves. Are they pretty spectacular? Is it worth going to see them?
I can highly recommend going to visit Te Papa and Lake Taupo. I have been lucky enough to visit both places a few times and was blown away by the exhibitions in the museum and by the sheer size and scale of Lake Taupo. I have to warn you that it can get very windy around the lake, though, so you'll want to visit it during summer. The last time that I was there was last August and my colleague, Stefanie, and I got caught in a hail storm. It was terribly cold and very windy!
I hope that you continue to explore the Summer Learning Journey site and find some activities that interest you. There are 6 more days left in the programme and plenty of fun activities to do in Days 1-9.
Hope to see you back online and blogging again tomorrow!
Cheers,
Rachel
Hi Daniel,
ReplyDeleteThese 5 landmarks you chose are interesting. If you get the chance you should go to Te Papa. I am sure you would really like it. There are so many different things to see. I really enjoyed it when I went.
HI Daniel and Aminiasi,
DeleteI completely agree with Aminiasi's recommendations. In fact, I am going to go down to Wellington in May to see the World War I exhibit that they have on site. Apparently it is truly amazing! I hope that you get there before it (the World War I - Gallipoli exhibit) closes next year
Cheers,
Rachel
